Congratulations Again Loch Bay Restaurant
Well the autumn certainly has been a really busy time for attending award ceremonies, and succeeding, for Loch Bay Restaurant
First of all Laurence and Michael Smith travelled to the AA Hospitality Awards in London where they were awarded 3 AA Rosettes in the 2020 Guide. The AA Guide goes on to comment ‘’Loch Bay is a diminutive institution, it’s unpretentious decor conveys a homely charm that belies the seriously accomplished food on offer. Chef Michael Smith finely-honed skills deliver dishes of deceptive simplicity and integrity.”
Then only two weeks later Michael receives his Michelin Award for the 3rd year in a row and is again the only Michelin starred restaurant on Skye. The Michelin Guide 2020 says “ Skilfully prepared, intensely flavoured Scottish dishes with French overtones and cooking well judged “
They are also featured in the Good Food Guide where it is said ‘’ Michael Smith’s exact and finely tuned contemporary cooking ’
Absolutely brilliant and so well deserved.
Michael has said of their achievements recently in the West Highland Free Press. “I am always very mindful of how fortunate we are to have had the chance to open Loch Bay in such an historic and beautiful location. And while accolades are in no way our raison d’être, they are very much appreciated recognition, supportive of our amazing staff and suppliers’ continued dedication to Loch Bay and the Scottish hospitality industry in turn.”
You really can’t miss a visit if you are on Waternish or Skye. But book as soon as you can. They are already taking bookings for next year!
