Sgorr

On the western side of the peninsula the area known as Sgorr incorporates the Beinn an Sguirr cliffs and the Loch Losait Bay. The cliffs offer excellent views of the Trotternish peninsula and are a good place to take a picnic and watch the ferry leave from Uig on its journey to the Outer Hebrides. Golden eagles can often be seen perched on the inaccessible crags. Details of the cliff walk from Gillen can be found on the Waternish Walks page.

Thanks to Pat Myhill for the photo.
